Ok ladies, we are living in a wonderful time… where comfy + casual = Success! Having a few great basics in your closet is a must. I find myself always wearing similar basic pieces then adding in seasonal items or fun trendy pieces to spice things up and elevate the look. My go-to basic pieces include white shirts, ripped jeans and nude shoes. You can have fun with seasonal items like leopard sneakers and bold colors here and there. It’s all about simplicity. Here is a great blog post with tons of outfit ideas. Feel free to shop my looks by clicking on the image. It will take you straight to the website. Oh, most everything is from Amazon! It’s like an online mall without the crowd or waiting in line.
Plain Basic Tee Shirts
Basic Short Sleeve Loose Casual Tee T-Shirts are my favorite basic summer piece. Pair with ripped jeans, shorts, bold skirts or white jeans to look stylish. Leave untucked, front tuck, side knot or tuck it in all the way around… so many options for whatever look you are going for with a basic tee shirt.
A favorite pair of ripped jeans or destroyed denim shorts are a must for basic summer pieces. You can always dress up or down any basic tee shirt and ripped jeans with two simple things: 1. a designer belt and 2. heels. For example, if I am just running errands with the kids, you will see me in a tee shirt, jeans and flip flops. However, if I am in the mood to dress it up for date night, I might tuck in my tee shirt, add a Gucci belt and nude heels. Super easy!
Basic Tank Top
In the hot summer months, especially in the south, I live in basic tank tops. So of course, tank tops are some of my favorite basic summer pieces. Keep it simple or add some style with a tie front. I like to wear tie front tanks shirts without a belt. Here are some of my favorite tanks.
Now how do you dress up your summer basics? With a lace cami of course! My favorite basic summer piece has become a year-round staple… the lace cami. Having a black and white lace cami in your wardrobe can definitely add style without much fuss. Again, pair with ripped jeans, shorts or even dressy shorts for a chic dressy summer look out on the town. And if you missed it, snakeskin and leopard prints are super hot right now. You can add a simple tank to your favorite basic summer pieces to add lots of personality and style. Add a cardigan or blazer for a dressier look.
Having a few good bodysuits in neutral colors is a must. Bodysuits are another great favorite basic summer piece because they go with everything, any time of the year. I love the feminine look they give an outfit. Style tip- wearing a bra can sometimes be tricky with bodysuits, so I like to go with racerback bodysuits because it allows me to wear my favorite no fuss racerback seamless bra or even a sports bra.

I am literally obsessed with the clean, simple chic look of a blazer. A good basic black and white blazer pretty much goes with everything in your closet. All of your favorite basic summer pieces will go with a blazer. It adds style, sophistication and helps elevate a basic top. Layering a blazer extends you into all seasons as well.
Now it’s not summer until you break out summer dresses. On a day to day basis, I love the comfort level of soft dresses and rompers. Dresses have a loose easiness to them during the hot months. Some of my favorite basic summer pieces are one pieces. Keep a few of these on hand for style and comfort. Short dresses, maxi dresses, rompers, and jumpers… so many cute and comfy choices!
